Rain…
Sigh. It has been raining here in Korea for two and a half days now. Yes, In my “about” page it says that I am living in Texas, which I do. However, I am on vacation right now so, since I’m Korean, I visit my home country every summer. Anyways. I’m not saying rain is bad, in fact, I love rain. Every once in a while, it always feels good to hear claps of thunder and rain pouring down outside. Kinda romantic, eh?
Rain has a sort of “renewal” effect on me. after day after day of hot, humid weather, rain gives me time to just stay indoors, watch TV or a movie, etc and, overall, cool off.
Sometimes, I even if I have a umbrella in hand, it feels good to just take in the rain, you know? Then I wonder,
“Is it true, that if you get hit by rain for too long you will start growing bald?”
Then I get under the hood of my umbrella again and continue on my journey back home.
The only bad thing about rain is its aftermath. I’m not really talking about the disasters that can occur from torrents of rain, such as floods, but rather the most basic of annoyances: Humidity. I’d have to say that humidity is worse than being just “hot” outside. Everything starts sticking to you, and you get thirsty every so often and soon, you’ll be sweating streams of sweat, making you uncomfortable AND smelly. Great.
Also, going out in the rain is just a hassle. being restrained in a small cylinder of protected space under an umbrella isn’t that fun. Also, no matter what, you’ll get wet, whether its from the stupid angle of the rain itself or crappy drivers who speed at 80 mph over a gargantuan puddle of rain right next to you. What the hell.
Whats even worse? Well, I’m supposed to be meeting some relatives soon. In the streets. In this rain. Damn.
